Yup, it's all over on the 1st June.
After that, we're going to have a one-month run through with no pauses (yeah, right) and no resets (I'll do my very best).
After that month, we'll reset for the last time and start properly, with no more resets ever.
So, the next version of Savages is going to be (shall we say) Gamma 1.0.0.
There are a few big changes, and lots of small ones, hopefully you'll spot them pretty quickly.

However, the big news is that there is going to be a prize for the person with the highest score after the month is up!

That's right, the person with the most points on July 1st will win something from the Little Savages Store (http://www.cafepress.com/lsav3) or the Krung! store (http://www.cafepress.com/krung) (please don't feel you have to buy anything, it's only there so I can use it as a prize).
So work your tactics out and get ready - I'll let you know a time for the reset on June 1st closer to the date!

It's real.
I dunno what postage from the states will be like, but I've found the the products from the US are so cheap it kind of evens out - UK prices are quite high (I spent 35GBP on a plain white t-shirt yesterday - I'm so gay).

I usually spend 35 SEK on plain T-shirts (1 = about 15 SEK)

Excellent news! Prizes are cool. I don't think I've a cat in hell's chance of winning, but it's still all good.

I assume the scoring system is going to be changed before the contest starts, though? If it's the same as the current system, I'm going to start with thirteen breeders and a couple of priests, and just set them all going on a month-long orgy (with minor breaks for praying).

Hang on no resets ever? Surely it would make more sense to have a way that a player could either win or destroy the game and it starts all over again (say after a few months play) or it would get dull for new players and such, especially if there were 1 or 2 dominant players owning most of the map.

That way you could have an all time champions board too of victors and destroyers of worlds.

This is an idea that's being bandied around, and has been discussed lots of times since the LSav3 conception.
The best idea is not to let 1 or 2 people dominate.

still, makes things more exiting for all player, especially newer ones, if there is a chance to start from a level playing field every few months.

But something player orientated like if you research all inventions, get enough miracle points, have a sav well educated enough, happy enough and full enough, that you can cast armageddon on the land, destroying everyone other than you, you win and go into the sav hall of fame and the game is reset after couple of days down time to let any maintenance/bug fixing/additions take place and everyone starts again.

I imagine that will take more than a few months though...depending on how intensely you play.

In that case, since it's summertime, the restart was at 14:00 GMT/UTC, as advertised.

In fact, you could go as far as to say that there never was a closed beta. We had alpha and moved straight into the open beta.

So 4pm local time then, 110 minutes after my earlier post (and 100 after yours).
Doesn't really matter now, except for the Savillian history books, but my backs hurting, so I'm being picky.

Why did this not result in severe mocking?

Also, whatever time the beta may have started, I was at that time on my way to my girlfriend whose house was lacking internet, meaning I probably won't win that all powerful and truly awesome T-shirt. Know that I will take it out on anyone with a camp close to mine.

Although not without controversy (and subsequent investigation, which really turned up nothing suspicious), [playerb]oosla [/playerb] has won the gamma test, and can choose her prize.
I'll leave the game chugging on for a little while longer while I make a few more changes, and then it'll restart for good.

First of all, well played to oosla! Also to gloucester, who made a heroic effort to catch up, but just ran out of time.

Second of all, is this final and momentous reset likely to happen today? Or is the chugging-on period going to be like the one before last, i.e. several days? It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but it would be nice to know.
